Survival Analysis Calculator

Load example data Load example data (two categorical predictors) Load example data (competing risks)

Use this calculator for time-to-event data with censoring. Depending on the selected variables and status codes, numiqo calculates Kaplan-Meier estimates, a log-rank test, Cox regression, or a competing risks analysis. Copy your data into the table above and select the time, status, and optional group or predictor variables.

Which survival analysis is calculated?

Kaplan-Meier survival analysis

Use a time variable and a status variable with 0 = censored and 1 = event.

Kaplan-Meier curves and log-rank test

Add one grouping variable to compare the survival distributions of the groups.

Cox regression

Select multiple predictors or at least one metric predictor.

Competing risks analysis

Use a status variable that also contains 2 = competing event.

Kaplan-Meier results

The Kaplan-Meier output includes sample and event counts, restricted mean survival time, median survival with confidence limits, survival curves with optional 95% confidence bands and censoring marks, and a complete survival table. When groups are selected, numiqo also reports the log-rank test.

Survival curve and survival table

The curve shows estimated survival over time. The accompanying table reports the number at risk, events, censoring, survival estimates, standard errors, and confidence limits at each observed time. Confidence bands and the displayed median can be switched on or off.

Log-rank test

The log-rank test compares the survival distributions of independent groups. Its p-value indicates whether there is evidence that at least one survival curve differs, but it does not measure the size of that difference.

Regression and competing events

Cox regression reports adjusted hazard ratios, confidence intervals, and proportional hazards diagnostics. If status 2 occurs, numiqo instead retains it as a competing event and reports cumulative incidence functions, Gray's test, and Fine-Gray regression. See the survival analysis tutorial for help choosing the appropriate method.
