Xbar-S Chart
An Xbar–S chart is a type of statistical process control chart used to monitor the stability of a process when the subgroup size is relatively large (typically more than 10). It consists of two charts: the Xbar chart, which tracks the average of each subgroup to detect shifts in the process mean, and the S chart, which tracks the standard deviation within each subgroup to monitor process variability.
By analyzing both charts together, you can identify whether changes in the process are due to shifts in the average output, increased variation, or both, helping ensure the process remains in statistical control.
